Do I have to reset Metabolism

I have been on MFP for a few years now and over that time I have lost nearly 2 stone (28lbs)
I have done this by eating around 1200cals a day (often much less when I don't eat back cals from spinning classes 2-3 times a week)..... then I eat whatever I like at the weekends.

I'm now only a few pounds away from my goal and have started to focus of weights, etc at the gym and yoga rather than just cardio. I've also upped my midweek cals to 1450. I still eat what I fancy at the weekends.... and sometimes I eat A LOT!!

My questions is this - do I really need to do a metabolism reset before I up my cals to follow EM2WL? I'm worried about gaining weight when I'm currently close to goal and finally feeling good about myself.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you done that weekend splurge from the start? That may have been enough to keep the body from stressing out and slowing down?

But then again, if you have accurate food logging, are you actually losing the amount the math would suggest?
If not, then your body has slowed down, and a reset would be in order.

If so little left to lose, did you at least change weight loss goal to 1/2 lb weekly?

Oh, and if you are still losing weight, as soon as you eat back that deficit you have in place, you will gain water weight.
The first big loss of water weight everyone gets when they start a diet, you will get that back. Body needs and wants it.

You should have a weight goal range, not single number.
