Hey all! Well, I survived the day yesterday! Hubby has been under the weather, so I've been tending to him while keeping the house running. Yesterday afternoon after church I started to feel funny. I still got the house cleaned up and then tried to take a nap. But struggled to fall asleep. Went back to church and made it through the Sunday school class I needed to teach, but then had to head home, Got a massive migraine and went straight to bed. Hubby put the kids to bed for me and got me some toast and soup. I ate that and then rested some more. Still struggled to sleep and a bit tired this morning, but at least the head ache is gone. I tend to get these during my time of month. Well, it's that time of month. So glad this will be my last!
Plans for today,..rest! I don't want another one of those! I was going to run some errands and things. But I am watching my friends kid...and all three of my kids will be home...so that will be enough excitement! My parents are coming over, so they'll entertain my kids at least.
Goal:
Make sure I stay hydrated!
take a day to rest and not run around so much.0 -
I subscribe to US Weekly* and I'm only allowed to read it while on the treadmill or bike at home. Yesterday my husband commented I must be slacking because the pile of trashy mags is big. He's right—the last couple of months I got in a lot of activity but not so many workouts. I need both!
After Friday’s killer upper body workout and Saturday’s Pilates, I took a rest day yesterday. I tried to get my family to take a walk before lunch but my husband dragged his heels so we only got in less than ten minutes. This morning I planned to workout (still keeping my habit of setting out workout clothes the night before) but I woke up with a sore throat feeling very phlegmy. Gross, sorry.
Yesterday I did some prep for this week, hard-boiled eggs, prepped tonight & Tuesday night’s slow cooker dinners (chicken mushroom pesto and chili) and made today’s lunch.
*don't judge me

Hi all! Hope everyone (and husbands, kids, etc) is feeling well or feeling better. It's that time of year. Lil girl just got sick today (0 to 60 in less than a day--full runny nose, sneezy, etc) and DH & I are fighting it hard.
Today was leg day, but I mostly focused on calves/ankles. My exercises for my ankles have gotten to very high rep now (working on endurance, since that's what I'll need to run). Been really trying to get a good stretch when I do my periodic stretches during the day, but my left side just doesn't stretch out and it shows (random pains). Overwhelmingly, my calves & ankles feel better, but those occasional pains worry me about whether I'm ready to restart or not. But I'll find out soon. I've decided that since son has an easier homework load this year, that I'll use the extra time to take him to the park to start running with me. Since I'll be starting back at zero and working up, I'll bring him along for the ride up from 1km to ??. Also, the gym called and talked to DH and he thinks I should rejoin. I think he's right.
Also, I'm at my calorie goal for the day right now, but am sooo hungry. I'll never sleep this hungry. Also, DH made banana bread. You do the math....grrrrr
Have a good one!0 -
Valma hope you're feeling better!
April that used to be In Touch magazine for me. No judgment here.
Sherry sorry to hear most of your family is sick. Your son is avoiding it so far?
Yesterday I did my bike/legs workout. Took me 91 minutes. Was brutal but in a good way. 30 minutes later the sun was shining and I felt like running, so I headed out thinking I would aim for 2-4 miles. Ran 6, which was the bottom of my goal for Saturday. I probably could have run further but I hadn't eaten anything since a banana an hour into my bike workout and was getting hungry. If I had realized I was going to feel up to running longer I would have had a gel or something before heading out. Run took me 1:15, so on top of my 1:31 bike workout it turned out to be a good day.
Trainer workout tonight. We did upper body & core since he had me do legs yesterday. Then I came home and shoveled! Snowed all day today and they're talking 1-3" more overnight, but since I've been home it's just been flurries so hopefully it won't amount to much.0
