^Oooo, a good one!
Today I WANTed the gym, but I had too much shopping to do and stores are all closed on Sunday in Greece. So, I reorganized my time to go to the gym tomorrow and today I did the shopping and I RRRRAAAANNNNN for the first time in two months!! Only 1km, as planned, but it went well, no pain before, during, or after!! (yay) I will continue at 1km for about a week (or 3-4x) and then raise it to 2km, assuming all goes well.
It's so important that I get back to running, b/c i realized last night that my stress level is thru the roof (and my coping has bottomed out) and I don't know whether I need a meditation workshop or a punching bag. Clearly, I really just need to run!!
Have a good one!0 -
Sherry - yay! I'm glad to see you made it back to some running, and that it went so well!
Determined - glad to hear you ar now pain free! That's awesome! I know what you mean about getting the munchies when you sit around. I think it's more the habit of when I'm sitting and atching TV or something that I just absentmindedly want to eat to do something with my hands.
I survived my last day with an extra kid. All my kids were melting down by the end of the day so we just sat around and watched tv. I grabbed them McDonald's. But I did not eat any for myself and instead had some healthy leftovers. So I ended up well under my calories yesterday!
Today I'm visiting a friend in the morning and then just relaxing in the afternoon, doing laundry. Low key so I should hopefully recover even more. I am slowly getting better every day, thank heavens! Have a great weekend everyone!0 -
Sherry so happy to hear you were able to get in a run and better yet that it felt good! Is everybody in your household healthy again?
Valma so proud of you for eating well while you're recovering. And dealing with extra kids on top of that! Stress + forced reduced activity can be a killer and you're handling it with grace.
Determined glad to hear the surgery went well. Hope you have a speedy recovery! My cousin had a similar surgery in April and she was pretty wiped out for the first week after surgery, but she said it made a tremendous difference for her. She was in pain all the time pre-surgery too.
I had a really busy week. Work was busy. Hard workouts every day. I had planned on swimming after work yesterday & had a massage scheduled at 7:00 and cancelled both. When I'm too tired to get a massage - well that's saying something. It was a 90 minute massage so it would have been 8:45 before I was back in the car (re-dressed, paid, scheduled, etc.) and I would be facing a 25 mile drive home in the dark & cold on roads that are still icy from all the snow we've gotten this week (every morning there's been at least 1 car in the ditch on my way to work). I left the house at 6:00 yesterday morning and that was just too much. I also had to go to the store so it would have been 10:00 before I got home. So I cancelled the massage, skipped the gym, ran my errands, and was home by 7:30.
Cold today (7F right now) but the sun is out. Taking a rest day this weekend, and the other day I'm doing 30 minutes on the bike trainer to warm up, then a 4-5 mile run. It will be my first run in the snow so Jason didn't want me running too far, and added on the bike so I'd be warmed up before I head out. Today is supposed to be the nicer of the two days (high of 23F) but my legs are so tired I don't know if I have a workout in me. We'll see how I feel later today. In the meantime I'm trying to get some stuff done around the house since everything got pushed aside the past few days. Dishes are caught up and laundry is going now.
Happy weekend everyone.0
