Thanksgiving is almost here

Just wondering if everyone has a food plan in mind for the upcoming holiday? The holidays can be so difficult - all the old comfort foods that we enjoy, family trying to get you to eat more or "try this." Because of all the challenges it is so important to have a plan going in. Dessert is always the hardest for me to get past so I always make sure I take a dessert that I know I can eat without any regrets or dumping. When it comes to the main meal, I always make sure I have a smaller plate, like a salad plate. My aunt always buys the big platter paper plates. I have found if I use those, I put way too much food on my plate and then find myself picking at the leftovers even though I'm full. That's why I use a salad plate. It is much smaller, so it doesn't hold as much food. It also limits the amount of each item I can put on it. Talk about portion control, lol. At this point in my journey I don't have to worry too much about the "eat more" and "try this." All my family members are aware of my restrictions at this point but those first few years were rather difficult. So, what are your plans for facing the difficulties of Thanksgiving (and Christmas for that matter)?
