Taking a consecutive rest day, as planned. Got loads of sleep last night which also really helped.
Hopefully will get a double gym workout tomorrow.

Didn't track all my calories yesterday. I ended up having a mini-date night with hubby. He cooked, and we did have dessert together. We chose not to eat out, so bonus points for us! :) But it was some much needed time together we don't often get right now.
Goal for today is not working out...but finishing up the back yard and wrapping presents. I have friends coming over as well, so it should be a pleasant day!

Laura - I think you're right...we just got used to feeling subpar and now we're used to something better!

    Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Hi all. Hope your day going well. I am just in a mood to be cosy inside looking out at all the snow. I started day with nia dance class. I have been working on shopping list and menu for thanksgiving and bookclub party. I decided to make the traditional turkey meal and freeze left overs. Its just us this year but we like it and I always put out good bottle of wine by candlelight. I am making choc bread pudding with bourbon pecan sauce for club party (no one counts calories at these things me included)

    I love today's thread starter!

Val some days it's just too hard to try to figure out how to track calories. Glad you had date night with your husband, and with the calories you saved by eating in instead of going out you probably saved enough calories for that dessert you shared.

Marla it sounds like you've got a great day going today!

I didn't track all of my calories yesterday either. I tracked up until the potluck we had at the office after work. I did pretty well with how I ate, but it's impossible to figure out how to track a few bites each of 10 different foods. We had great variety, and everything was very tasty. I did end up eating a protein snack bar before bed though because while I nibbled enough that I wasn't hungry, I also apparently didn't get enough substance for it to stick with me. I've been working on kicking my recent cravings for sweets and was pleased to see that I wasn't tempted by them.

I went for a 60 minute run today. It warmed up to above freezing for the first time in two weeks! It's 20 degrees (F) warmer than it has been, although it was a little foggy & damp so it didn't feel particularly warm out. The snow is starting to melt so the roads were clear enough (except when I had to get off on the shoulder, and there were some icy spots I had to dodge around) but my feet got very wet. I'm just not loving running right now. Jason had me do a timed run instead of a mileage run and that did help because I knew at the end of an hour I'd be done regardless of how slow I was. I was faster than last week but was still slower than my normal pace.
