Why hello there again gang! How is everyone doing so far??

Well, my goals have altered slightly, lol.....the closer we get to the holidays, the busier I get....I actually thought this would get better now that my kids are older, but it never seems to get any less busy between mid-November and the first week of January I feel like I barley have time to catch my breath. Does everyone have this problem??

So, I am putting off my get back to the gym goal until after New Years, sadly. If I have a free day that isn't my only free day I will try and get some intentional exercise in, but I just can't see it becoming a regular thing again until all this craziness is over.....

My goal for this week is to keep logging.....I have several appointments this week as well as my regular three months labs to fast for tomorrow.....so its gonna be nuts.....

Going to try and limit junk food to once a week

And to try and read most nights before bed instead of always falling asleep to netflix

I know these goals are a little different, but for the next six weeks it is gonna be a little nuts for me.....

    Hi there!

for last week I made most of my goals.

    1. I did drink 32 ounces of water on each of my days off from work. (win!)
    2. I did honestly log for six out of seven days (win!)
    3. I did go to the pool to work out twice, once for 60 minutes and once for 85 minutes, but I did not do the ten minutes of walking outside. (2 outta 3 ain't bad!)I will be having this goal again soon.
    4. I stayed all the way under my calorie goal five out of seven days instead of six.
    5. I wrote my meal plan and shopping list for this week and I went and did the shopping for it. I still have to cook the main meal and divide in into containers when I get home from work in the morning but I'm counting it as complete because it's all there and I'm still eating within the plan tonight at work. (win!)

This week will be a bit more complicated and a bit more lax because of the holiday and the huge amount of work and busy stuff I have to do. I work every night between now and thanksgiving at Job #1. I work overnight the night before thanksgiving and then when I get off in the morning I will drive for job #2, then go to thanksgiving dinner at my sisters, run home to sleep a bit and then up to drive for job #2 for black friday at 4am. then that friday is also my aunt's birthday and tree decorating and cookie making, then back to driving in the evening, then a full night shift on saturday night at job #2 and back to job #1 on sunday night. I'm kind of tired just looking at all of it, it's going to be a very busy weekend without a lot of time to sleep, rest or work out. I'm not planning on logging on thursday or friday. I usually take friday off from logging for sanity purposes and eat a little more that day. not like binging or anything but a nice meal out without having to figure out the calorie content, this friday that will be dinner and cookie making at my aunt's (that's cookie making, not eating). thursday I'm going to eat thanksgiving dinner but not eat all the everything and not a ton of the anything. since I will be up for more than 24 hours that day, I don't want to have to mess with it and obsess over the calorie count being over 1800, as it would have to be on any more than 24 hour day. I also want to challenge myself to eat thanksgiving dinner within reason and get to feel like a normal person who doesn't have to stop and jot down every molecule of food I get near. I'll be missing weigh in day this week because it's usually on thursday night so I I don't want to get into the 'whatever, I have an extra week before I weigh so I'll just go ahead and eat half this sweet potato pie" mindset. so, with all that being said, here is my goals for this week.

    1. drink at least 32 ounces of water on all my days off (from job #1)
    2. honestly log everything I eat for five out of seven days
    3. remain below calorie goal for five out of seven days
    4. make a meal plan for next week and shop for it. since I'm unable to cook this week due to time constraints, part of this goal is to make the plan include packaged food that is not junky.
    5. eat within healthy boundaries at thanksgiving dinner. only one actual size serving size of each item and one plate, no seconds.
    6. treat myself to a thanksgiving dessert within limits. choose only 1 dessert from the selection and eat one actual serving size of it, no seconds, no two serving size slices of cake.
    7. make time for at least one trip to the pool for swimming or water aerobics.
    8. return to plan immediately, no straggling at the end of days off from logging. I often do this and a planned treat day can turn into a week of f*** this mode.

that's a long bunch of goals there. I feel strong going in to it. I think it'll be good.

good luck to you all on your thanksgiving week!
  • My goals this week is:

    1. Drink my 32 oz. of water
    2. Get my daily steps in
    3. Get to the gym at least 4 days
    4. Log everyday
    5. Work on not feeling guilty my husband has to work a 2nd job (He only works 40 hours at his first job). I work 50 hours at my job and I take care of the house and kids at night.

Hope everyone reaches their goals and a happy Thanksgiving to you all.

    Goals this week:
    1. Walk to and from work everyday
    2. Make it to the gym at least twice
    3. Don't eat out (I made food for the week, so this shouldn't be too difficult)
    4. Rest when I need it. I tend to push too hard and do too much, and I don't want to burn myself out.

Everyone set such good goals that I am going to push myself a bit harder. My goals are to log daily, go to Curves twice this week, create a new vision board for what I am working on for the next 90 days, and to stay under 2500 calories on Thanksgiving. Posted on the whiteboard and entered into my daily planner as well as here. :)

Ok, after a couple of days of being distraught about what happened in Ferguson, I am picking up the pieces and trying to get back into the swing of things. I had a terrible last two days, Monday night I was supposed to be fasting for blood work and woke up at 4am with a low blood sugar, so had no choice but to break the fast. Then all day Tuesday, everything that could go wrong, did. On top of that, I have barely been sleeping (nightmares), and have been wanting to eat all the sugar in the world. I have to try and step away from the news and get on with life, as difficult as that is for me when something like this is going on.

I think on Friday I am going to buy a fitbit flex....they are going on sale at Wal-Mart here, and I love the idea that it lets you know how you are sleeping.....anyone here use one? I hope it fits my wrist....I talked to a friend yesterday online for a bit that has one and she loves it.....
  • I have a vivofit with the heart monitor. It tracks my sleep also. I've had mine for almost 2 weeks. I love mine too. I like the idea of the red line reminding me to move. My kids even pay attention. They will let me know if I have a red line if I haven't noticed it. Another thing I like they have stepping competition. Not that you get anything but the competitive person in me. I so like the ones that you wear on your wrist because for me anyway when you have the step trackers that hook on your waist band they would either fall off or because of my stomach and it pressing up against something it would reset.

I also like the idea that they sync with your phone, computer, and MFP. Well that is my two cents.

Last few days have been doing pretty good....

Had to get an ultrasound done on my hand today, I didn't even know they did that!

I am going to head out in the morning to Wal-Mart and buy that fitbit flex I want to try...I hope I like it (and it fits!)

I was actually looking at my day book today, and other than a bit of extra shopping for Christmas, I am not as bogged down this month as I usually am, and am thinking I do not have to put off the gym until after the holidays...I might be able to go back Tuesday....I just gonna try and keep pace and not let myself or my schedule get overwhelmed.....once I get going, it is usually easier to stay going, it is starting that is the problem, and then not letting things overwhelm me and get in the way.

How is everyone else doing? Quiet board this week! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving......

Well due to holiday and heavy snow, only got to Curves once. Weight loss vision board in progress; lots of inspiration on pinterest. I stayed under 2500 calories on Thanksgiving. 2 pieces of pumpkin cheesecake pie adds up fast. Back on track today. I've been looking at the Jawbone Up myself.
