Anyone have success in Atkins, or Low Carb High Fat?
I am hypo, and on .150 synthroid. I teach Zumba once a week.
My metabolism just stopped. Put me into menopause, caused a 30 pound weight gain in a matter of months (I'm in my 30s). The docs forced me out of 'pause and I'm "normal" except that I can't lose weight.
I did Atkins for a month prior to Thanksgiving and lost seven pounds in four weeks, but I had to stay in induction the whole time.
The downside is I went off Atkins for eight days for the holiday and I gained nine pounds in eight days.
I'm back on the wagon and looking for friends in the same boat.
I also wanted to know if anyone has long-term success in carb restriction.
AND, I want to know if there is any info about health effects. Is this harmful or helpful to folks with our condition?
