The myplate meal plan is working !?!

I thought I wouldn't be able to follow it. I thought it made no sense to include grains and some form of dairy at every meal. I didn't have any faith in following myplate.gov for my diet. Three meals a day and no snacks.
I feel like I spend half my life now thinking about food, logging food, planning meals, planning groceries, and preparing food but I am losing.
For meals to carry to work I am making half-sandwiches for lunch ( turkey and ultra-thin deli swiss) along with a veggie and a small fruit. And for breakfast egg salad on melba toasts or a low fat cheese wedge on wasa crispbread with the appropriate extras.
I've observed it takes me a long time to eat and these meals include a lot of fiber. And I'm learning not to drink with my meals.
And I have lost 10 pounds!
