Well after working hard and under stress, we passed our accreditation that we have been working on for the past 3 years. What a journey!! Now I want to get serious and get healthier..and perhaps look for another position! How have you all been up to?? Sort of quiet around here, but I know everyone has their lives to get on with!!
I am headed 'home' to the States on Wednesday! Yeah...two of my friends are joining me for three weeks of R & R!! I am going to have to check on who is going to 'win' the $100 gift certificate! I will be checking back in and see who gets it. I have been getting my exercise in, but not losing any weight!! I will get back on track the first of the year!!
Hope you all are doing well!! Weather here is gorgeous!!! Hope your weather is good for you too!!

Congratulations on passing your accreditation! I think that the three weeks of R & R are well deserved.
I am sorry that I have been a bit quiet lately. It is the tail end of the semester and the holiday season so I haven't had a ton of time. The good news is that after my two finals next week I am done with school until the MBA starts in February/March. IT'll be online so I will have a lot more time to take care of my health and fitness than I did these past few months. I am with you in that I my weight loss track has kind of derailed (I blame school), but I have been maintaining and once school is done I have a good plan set in place to get back on track.
The weather is still unseasonably warm out here. It has been in the med to upper 50's. Usually we are in the upper 20's to 30's. Hopefully we get a cold front with some snow that moves through.
Tonight I am going out with a group of friends to see the lights downtown and after head to dinner. It is the type of place that is very easy to overindulge so I will work to keep it all limited. Tomorrow I am going to a Yule Ball (as in a Harry Potter Yule Ball). I am not sure what to expect, but a lady asked me to go so I will hope for the best haha. I didn't even know such a thing existed.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and that you all manage to find some time for yourself.0 -
Hey, you're still here!!!! I fell off the planet for a while after some horrible medical issues but am finding my way back to life!
Will update later.

Welcome back Karen! We missed you while you were gone. Hopefully things are going to get better and stay better. If there is something we can do (kind words, goat sacrifices, etc.) just let us know.0

Hi gang, so good to be back! I had a rough couple of months with a fall/back injury that led to sacroilliitis (inflammation of the sacroilliac joint) and disc ruptures. The nerves running down both legs were being pinched, so sometimes when I stood up, I would just fall down again, or sometimes I would stay up but I would pee all over the floor, or sometimes I would just cry and scream because it hurt so bad. Even taking a shower was an ordeal. In the middle of all this, I was trying to get all my testing and stuff done for bariatric surgery, so my rheumatologist had to take me off immunosuppressants as surgery prep, Still's Disease reared its ugly head, I was bedridden with fevers of 103 or higher, then stuffed on so much prednisone that I gained 30 pounds in four weeks. Basically, we can sum up the last three months as "pretty shXtty." Yeah, that's about right.
Anyway, if you know anything about me, I wait until I have myself back together before re-joining the world. My back is on the mend. Still twingy, but twingy I can deal with. Still's flares are still crappy but should diminish once I'm back on my meds in a couple of weeks. I had my bariatric surgery on Dec. 9th, sleeve gastrectomy done laporoscopically. My surgeon almost backed out on me because of the Still's issues--I couldn't get off prednisone completely, plus my organs were all swollen because of the flares, but, thank god, he agreed to do it, we both knew it was high risk, and I am so relieved that it's over, and, knock on wood, I seem to be healing. And my surgeon is really happy that I didn't die on the table, LOL!!! I'm going to be a case study for a journal article! Yeah.... FAMOUS.
I'm one week out of surgery, third week on an all-liquid diet of protein drinks. I've lost enough weight that I'm back where I started when I disappeared from sight in September, but I know this time the weight will come off more consistently, and I am so grateful for that. I've fought this battle for so many years; I just can't handle more defeat.
So that's my novella... I am so happy to see that this group still exists and that some of you are still posting. Thank you, Zac, for the offer of the sacrificial goat!
Please, I know it's busy holiday times, but drop a note and let me know how you are doing!!! Pat, I see you're over a hundred pounds lost... amazing! Where's that pic you promised of you on your bike? Nancy, you're probably flying overhead right now.... WAVING. And where's our Blonde? I will hunt her down? Can't wait to hear from you all.

Me in all my sexiness... lol
I need a good long bike ride, but the work needs to be done first. It's going to be a long week. Plus I need to update the challenge spreadsheet with my week of bad scores.0 -
Nope, can't see it Pat. Is that the group for the Morbidly Obese? Can you add me as a member?0
