Last week I was fortunate to be invited to see a preview of "A Walk in the Woods" the movie based on Bill Bryson's book about his AT hike in the 70s. It stars Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. It was a fun movie, stayed pretty true to the book, except that they changed the characters a little to account for the age of the actors. The views of the AT & Blue Ridge Mountains were stunning and made me want to get out there and hike more. It left me wanting more, though. It felt like eating sugarless candy... sweet, but missing something. Anyway, it is worthwhile to see it, especially if you read the book and enjoyed it. I'm excited for all the adventure movies coming out now, especially Everest which comes out next year. Should make for a fun year of adventure at the movies!
