Hi Girls,

I just finished my first week of Induction and logged a loss of 600g (approx 1.4pounds) which is not as big as I'd hoped. However the monthly visitor arrived a few days ago and I'm wondering if that could have an effect on my weigh in? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance :)

I believe that your TOM may have something to do with it, but 1.4 lbs seems pretty low for your first week. Would you mind sharing a typical menu?

I'll just add you as a friend then you can see my food diary :) I lost another 400g today which takes me to a kg..

    Typical menu

breaky: two rashers bacon, two fried eggs, coffee with splash of cream
lunch: salad with chicken, cheese or ham
dinner: mushroom pizza and fried zucchini
snacks: atkins day break bar with cup of tea (splash of cream)

    What do you think?

Your menu looks somewhat normal,, however, I would add more leafy greens (spinach, kale...) versus veg from the squash family. Zucchini is low (5g net for one), but it can add up depending on how much you consume. I assume your pizza is Atkins friendly, without crust? Also, some people do well with the bars and others have issues losing weight with them. As far as fats, I usually add mayo, sour cream, oil, or cream cheese for a fat boost, which is a huge help. The ham and bacon that you're consuming should be free of nitrates because processed meats are cured with added sugar. I will have a look-see at your menu. Hope this helps a little.

I also wanted to add that the Atkins carb counter will be more accurate than MFP. I checked out your menu today and it looked great!!

great thanks for your help! yes my pizza is the kind that uses a large mushroom for a base :) I should definitely eat more spinach, will try to add to lunch. I also found that drinking some stock each day is really helping with the headaches and 'atkin's flu' symptoms. Where can I access the atkins counter? I tried using their website but found the BMI calculator and before/current weights etc all came out wrong and after much deliberation deleted my account. Thanks so much for your help by the way :)

Glad to hear that you're working through the "flu!" Here is the link for the carb counter. you may have to copy and paste in our web browser: http://www.atkins.com/getattachment/Program/Carb-Counter/2013CarbCounter.pdf.aspx
