Gosh I haven't posted all week. Just went back and caught up on what I missed. Donna I laughed at your comment about Fells warming up his running paws.
Sherry those tips of dealing with the holidays are great!
I worked Monday and Tuesday but am off now until next Monday. The amount of workout homework my trainer gave me has been exhausting. I had pre-ordered the Fitbit Surge, which wasn't supposed to come out until early 2015, and it came today. In addition to tracking steps, flights of stairs, calories & sleep, it also has a wrist HRM so I can see my heart rate 24/7 and it also has GPS. I can also get notifications of calls or text messages on it if my phone is within 20 feet. I just got a text and it vibrated to alert me then said "Gail" on the display to tell me who it was from. I can also read texts on it. I can tell it when I'm doing a bike workout, or pilates, or yoga, or the elliptical (there's a list of options) so it can more accurately estimate my calorie burn. That will be nice for something like pilates where my step count is low and my heart rate isn't necessarily high but I'm still working.

Laura, what a great gift to arrive right for Christmas! Sounds so cool. i think gadgets are so great.
We had a nice easy Christmas morning, then to take the kids to see their greatgrandmother. I had wanted to walk home, like I sometimes do, from that neighborhood, but we stayed a little later than expected. Oh well, that'll give me smthg to do tomorrow...a nice walk. DH broke the news to me that he has to work the weekend but that he'll try to accommodate me to go to the gym. I certainly hope so!! It's been so long since I've been because of his work!

It is sunny here, very pretty with spots of snow left on the ground.
We are going to watch the movie Wild about hiking after our late breakfast of crepes and mimosas.
My hubby got me a gold and diamond peace sign necklace...I am just a old hippie lady, does he know me or what? Lol. Also got great Keen winter hiking shoes, just in time for working less hours in a couple of weeks.

Marla I just bought my first pair of Keens on Tuesday. All I own are running shoes or boots so I've been wanting some kind of casual slip-on shoe to wear that were nicer than a running shoe but still something comfortable to pull on with jeans (which is what I almost always wear). On afternoon break Tuesday afternoon I walked down to a local store with a co-worker who needed to do some Christmas shopping and saw the shoes. I would have said they're not at all my style but they appealed to me. The box says blue but they look gray in certain light.
