^because I know today is a holiday called Boxing Day, but have no idea what it's all about, lol. Will google later. For now, just glad to have a day at home with DH and kids.

    Anywaaaay,
Marla that necklace sounds perfect for you. And nice hiking gift too. I bet you'll be glad to punch the clock less, and hit the trails more now that the shopping season is winding down there.
Laura, cool shoes. This year has really made me appreciate good footwear, not just when working out but ALL the time.

Well. I gave myself an eating free pass over the holiday and totally took advantage of it. By last night I was having second thoughts and decided I'd try for a run, which I did this a.m. I RAN!! (After 3mos off!)

I LOVE running on holidays because there's no traffic and it's quiet. Today was that case. I did a big loop around, ran about 25minutes (some walk breaks and once to stretch) and walked the rest of the way, about 30minutes. I learned smthg about myself too. Despite one calf hurting a little, I was pushing on. It was only when my poor stretched & pooched out stomach was hurting that I took walk breaks. Finally it dawned on me that I was being stupid and stopped and walked home. I've got to do a better job at pulling back when my legs are telling me to. Anyway, it felt great!

    Have a good one!

Truthfully I don't know what Boxing Day is either.

Sherry it's hard to check in the enthusiasm, especially when you have a day perfect for running, but you worked so hard to rehab your calf that I'm happy to read you did stop yourself from running the rest of the way home.

I had the day off from work. Went to the gym about 9:15 this morning to start today's homework. Did 45 minutes on the AMT (elliptical), my second 12 Days of Fitness workout from Jason, walked for 15 minutes on the treadmill, and then stretched. I showered at the gym, made a quick stop at the store, and had an hour at home before having to head out again for a family birthday party. Had an hour and a half at home between that and needing to head into the city where I work to get in a swim (the remainder of my homework), and I also had a massage scheduled. Got home about 9:30 tonight. I'm really stinking tired. I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow - my first day in two weeks without any obligations, so I'm excited about that.
