Hi everyone, I'm starting keto in the new year and trying to plan meals/food for work/snacks - would you mind sharing a typical keto day with me please? Thankyou x

I've been making some batches of Oopsie rolls/bread and I've been eating whatever throughout the day, not necessarily breakfast food at breakfast, but typically I will eat for breakfast maybe an egg or 2 with cheese and veggies and some bacon or sausage, lunch usually would be an oopsie roll sandwich of some kind with meat and cheese and lettuce and maybe some onion or tomato and pickles on the side, or a salad, then dinner is usually some type of meat based dinner with veggies and cheese (I eat a lot of cheese as you can tell). For snacks I have been eating summer sausage and cheese or pickles or cottage cheese. Hope this helps. I've been getting most of my meal ideas just from Googling low carb/keto/Atkins into meals/snacks/recipes. I have found a ton of good stuff. Just remember, if you miss carby foods, there is a low carb substitution for just about anything.

Oh, also, tuna, egg, and chicken salad (with lettuce and veggies for a salad or on oopsie bread)!

I usually start out with egg and 3-4 pieces of bacon or 1-2 ounces of cheese and tea with 1 Tbsp cream. (I've never been a huge breakfast person.)

Lunch is usually a big lettuce salad (almost all fiber) and 2-3 Tbsp of Blue Cheese dressing (full fat, Marie's Super Blue), sometimes with 3 oz of Chicken Breast on it.

Dinner is the fun stuff. Often I'll do something like shredded pork in the crockpot with some cheddar cheese on it, or sauteed chicken breast with brie, or something else. I've been collecting and trying out a ton of recipes from Pinterest. If you want to find my stash it's https://www.pinterest.com/tuttoaposto/healthy-treats/ but if you just search "keto recipes" you'll find a TON. The Low Carb Taco Bake ( http://www.food.com/recipe/low-carb-taco-bake-119732 ) is my favorite so far and the Low Carb Psylli Tortillas ( http://fluffychixcook.com/basic-psylli-wraps-low-carb-gluten-free/ ) are a lifesaver replacement for me!

If I have calories and macros left, then I can splurge a little for dessert.

And additional cups of tea during the day as needed

When I was on my first run and had the biggest losses (and the most to lose) I would just eat huge amounts of eggs with lots of olive oil or butter to get my fat content in, and have some grilled chicken breast for dinner. I didn't really know what I was doing as far as the cooking goes because before then I lived entirely off of energy drinks and fast food. I was stubborn enough to just tough it out with the eggs and did okay. There's a lot of recipe sites around and in addition to the links above I'd add http://www.ruled.me/

Starting this second cycle, I never eat the same thing for the same meal within the same week even though I'm using pretty much the same ingredients. Given the choice between that and just omelets swimming in fat with some yard bird on the grill, I'll take the former.

Breakfast: bpc, one sausage, 2 scrambled eggs with cheese.

Dinner: 4 ounces meat/chicken with added fat and 1 cup veg (broccoli, green beans)

Late snack: piece of cheese, nuts, pickle slice, and sometimes a glass of wine.

It's not much food, but keto really makes me have little hunger.

Thank you Hippy, I have been on this list now for about four months and never heard of oopsie rolls. I found an oopsie recipe here, it sounds fairly easy (I like easy) :) and it sounds tasty. I would love to have a substitute for a bun, I'm gonna try it out.

Or can you tell me your recipe?

The one I use is from food.com and it calls for 3 eggs, 4 oz cream cheese, and 1/2 tsp baking powder (adding psyllium [sp?] husk is also an option in that recipe). http://www.food.com/recipe/oopsie-bread-497736

    There is the link. ^

Surprised you hadn't heard of them yet! They are all over the low carb blogs and such. There are a lot of things you can make with them as a bread/crust replacement and they taste good too! Enjoy! The key is really whipping the egg whites until they are as stiff as possible or else the rolls will just end up flat. Learned that the hard way.

I recently bought a hand held mixer, can I use that?

Absolutely. I just bought a $10 one from Family Dollar and it works perfectly.
