How often do you guys do food prep and what do you usually do? I'm trying to think of ways I can prepare and pre-package and maybe freeze some meats and veggies and even whole meals to make things easier.

Most of my food is fresh made. I do keep a bag of hard boiled eggs in the fridge. I would think a bag of hamburger patties already cooked might help. Some bacon already cooked. When I bake chicken I make the whole package so I have chicken thighs handy for a quick grab.

Since I am retired I can take the time to make meals as they come and for me I prefer that. If I were working and on the run I would make up meats that could be warmed in the microwave and the eggs. There are microwave containers you could put meals together in to take to work if you have access to a microwave at work. Maybe make some soups up ahead of time. Thinking chicken or beef soup and freeze in one cup portions or the portion you eat for a quick grab.

I do most all my cooking by boiling
or braising...I like the fat, savory,
mineral rich broth so satisfying to
    appetite.

If I know I'm going to be out traveling
for the day, I do my cooking before I
leave, and let it cool on the counter till
I come home and then reheat the broth
    and meat/fish/veggies.

If staying in for the day, I will cook
    whenever, PRN, as needed, usually
    once a day.

I only cook for the day, so I don't
have leftovers to freeze or store,
but cooking ahead so the food has
time to cool before going to fridge
or freezer might fit your intent.
