Anyone Paleo and have Kidney issues?

I'm new to myfitnesspal. I've been pretty much PALEO for about 2 years and trying to tweak here and there to lessen the protein side.
Any others out there with kidney problems? I have IgA Nephropathy an autoimmune disease where protein antibodies, when dumped into my kidneys for filtering, cause inflammation and thus damage.

I have autoimmune disease but not for kidneys. In my experience kidney protocol is highly based on your specific labs at any given time and should not be something we deal with here. That is serious enough not to experiment with. What are you asking about? We will support you in any way socially but you have to deal with your doctor on diet stuff.0

I, like Cindy, have non kidney autoimmune issues. Happily in remission these days due entirely to dietary management - low carb primal.
My husband on the other hand has IgA Nephropathy, so I am very familiar with your plight. He doesn't keep to primal 100%, but as I do all the cooking, he reaps a bunch of the benefits.
Is this a new development for you? Where are you at with kidney function? We went through the low protein stage, but now he's on dialysis, he actually needs more protein than normal, which works well with our diet.
Have you spoken to a nutrionalist/dietician? Husband's nephrologist referred us to one. It was useful, though mostly when she heard we didn't do processed foods/cooked everything from scratch, she said we were 90% there anyway.
Happy to answer any questions, but yes, this forum is not a substitute for actual medical advice.0
