Counting Calories....Confusing Data

So, I noticed that when I go to add foods I've eaten to MyFitnessPal there are bunches of choices for the exact same food, but not necessarily the same nutritional information. That has forced me to go online to try and find out which ones are correct so I don't short-change myself, or end up eating too many calories in a given day. So, if you want to verify the calories in a food against what is listed in MyFitnessPal here is the United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Nutrient Database for Standard Reference.

Hope this helps!

  • Update: I was checking the site, above, for calories on a food I was looking up and noticed that it gave me all kinds of data but I didn't see calories anywhere. Very odd. If you try it and figure out where they list the calories please let us know.

    Thanks,
