Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying this blessed day. It's windy, cold, and snowing (just flurries) here in St. Louis but it is a day that the Lord has made so it is beautiful regardless of the weather.

So how is everyone doing on their goals? I'm doing pretty good, though it is early, lol. I did get absolutely wonderful news though. The last time I weighed was right before Thanksgiving, I believe. I weighed in yesterday morning and am actually down 0.1 pounds since then. That 0.1 might not be a huge number but it does mean that I didn't gain over the holiday season and I do believe that's a first for me. I would really love to be down to 250 by my birthday. That gives me 6 months. But I AM worth it and I CAN do it!!

Cody goes back to school tomorrow and I do believe we are both ready for him to go. He doesn't really have friends so he gets really bored when he's off for too long. So Zac, how's work going? Good I hope. It's always so hard to get back in the groove after a vacation. Nancy, how are things over in your part of the world? Do you get cold and snow over there? Just wondering. Don't know a lot about that part of the world except that it gets HOT! Pat, how are you going these days? I know you've been through a rough patch but I hope you are taking care of yourself. Karen, how is your infection doing and your husband's illness (sorry, forgot what he had though I seem to think it was the flu)? I hope both are getting better. So when did you get your surgery and how's it been going (except for the infection, of course)? Sorry if I forgot anyone, feel free to chime in and let me know how things are going for you in this new year.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!!

Dee (St. Louis, MO)

Hello all from snow and ice covered Maine. The temp here is 5 degrees, but the woodstove is blazing and I'm in my flannel nightgown.

Dee, my surgery was Dec. 9th, and I am really happy with the results. For the first time in as long as I can remember, I actually am not hungry all the time, and when I do eat, I get full very quickly and with small portions. The rough part has been healing incisions. The biggest one turned into an open wound that's about 3 inches deep, and a smaller one opened this weekend. I know that being on prednisone is slowing healing, but I can't drop any lower because the Still's flares are absolutely horrific. So I'm sort of in a slow holding pattern--having trouble walking because my joints are inflamed, sleeping 20 hours/day because of high fevers, trying to get my fluids and protein in and keeping my wounds from getting infected, unable to take my Still's meeds because they're all immunosuppressants.

Yeah, now you know why I disappeared for three months... My life is like an episode of House, MD.

My big New Years goal is to get healed, get back on my Still's meds and get those flares controlled, and get back in the gym!!

Congrats Dee on not gaining over the holidays. That is HUGE!

    How is everyone else doing?

    K.

Dee, that is great news on the non-gain over the holidays! Karen, I do hope that the healing happens soon.

Life is good for me over here in the finally winterized Utah. Work has been going pretty swell and I have been doing well with my calorie tracking so far this year. My goals will start to kick in fully tonight when I start up my new gym workout rotation. I am looking forward to it. I have been away from my weights for far too long and I have a feeling I am going to pay for it the morning after these first few workouts haha.

Hi all! Dee what an accomplishment to have not gained over the holidays! I can not say the same....I am on my last day of a three week vacation and am leaving for Saudi via Dubai and Bahrain tomorrow. Zac, am proud if you and your motivation to keep going and get heakthynand fitter! Karen, you progress will be slow, but you most definitely get to your goal! Hey did you ever get my note that I seny you about a month ago? I restart my " get fit and healthy " journey on Friday (aka kicking myself in the a@$ and get back to mov in' and losin'!)

Pat, can you set up another spread sheet for us?

And Dee, froze in Vegas over New Years and yesterday got back from the Grand Canyon, snow on the roads on the way up,but clear coming home!

Nancy, no--did not get your note. Did you send it regular mail or message me on here?

Aaarrgghh!! Something came from a foreign location that I needed to sign for, but it was during the time I was in and out of the hospital and the post office returned it before I could get in to sign for it. I'm so disappointed!
