Week 4 Run 1

Ok, because I was feeling ambitious today, and because the last run seemed way too easy, I ran week 4's schedule today.
Run: warm up walk - run 3min, walk 1.5min, run 5 min, walk 2.5min (repeat whole thing twice) - cool down walk
Time: 8:06pm
Weather: 55 F and drizzling
Location: trail
Playlist: Battle Born album by the Killers
Is it just me or is running in a slight drizzle just the best thing ever? It was so refreshing! I took the same trail today, but today I ran the dreaded hill. I paused my workout right after the last 3min run, ran down the hill, took a breather at the bottom, and then ran up the whole dang thing without stopping. Holy freaking crap guys, I don't think I have ever done anything that physically challenging in my life. About one third of the way up the hill, another runner who was going down it waved, it was an awesome shared moment of "I cant believe there is another person also out here running in the rain, aren't we awesome people? good luck, keep it up". The last third of the hill was killer. I was huffing and puffing so hard, and I was dizzy and my muscles seemed like the were turning into stone. I was so exhausted and proud of myself when I finally reached the top. It was like a scene from the freaking movies - running up hill in the rain on a beautiful trail through green pasture - until, when I was finished gulping enough air to have a look around, I saw two lazy horses munching on grass in the pasture who appeared positively unimpressed with my superhuman achievement (ok, its a tiny hill, but still). Oh well, after a 5 min walk I finished my last 5 minute run at an incredibly slow pace (seriously one of those speed-walkers could have passed me), and walked the final 10 minutes home. Great run today
