I have changed my profile to custom TDEE as per Scoobie's calculations - my question is do I need to disconnect my fitbit to sync with MFP otherwise it will increase the number of cals I need to eat on MFP and will show on Fitbit that I am grossly overeating? Any suggestions.

Yup. I would definitely disconnect the sync to fitbit. You can still record your exercise by hand on MFP but record it as 1 calorie (if you want - I like keeping a record for myself on MFP).

And since you have a device exactly intended to give you a personalized TDEE each and every day, which you can then average, or actually your emailed report averages for the week - there is no need to guess among 5 levels on scooby.

Perhaps you guessed right, perhaps your actual average TDEE is right between levels.

As long as you manually correct on Fitbit your non-step based workouts (lifting, rowing, elliptical, biking, ect) - it'll be giving you best estimate of TDEE.

Then take 15% off and manually set your MFP eating goal for the week.

That takes care of seasonal changes to TDEE, weight loss changes, ect.
