Well.... I gained a pound this week despite being at or under calories recommended intake. How could I only gain a 1/2 pound over Christmas but a pound the next week? It seems that I got a taste for all those left over goodies. Probably more salt than I'm used to as well. The good part is despite the total of 1.5 pound gain over 2 weeks, I'm still at goal weight as I had been under, so all is good. Have a great week everyone!

Imagine going on vacation... and losing weight! This is real proof that my eating plan is working. I was afraid to get on the scale for fear that I had gained, but since my last Wednesday weigh-in two weeks ago I have lost 5 pounds. Woo-hoo!!

    animated-dance-smiley-image-0024.gifGreat First Wednesday of 2015 Reporting-in Everyone!!

:grey_question: Like Computershateme, I too was under count all week but yet showing another 1-1/2 pounds this morning. I’m gonna blame it on the salty pierogies I enjoyed yesterday.

Got the bike out of the shop yesterday for my first short ride (7mi) of the New Year. Between unusually cold weather and a bummed up knee, I'll have to keep the rides short for a few more days. But did join a MFP Biking Challenge as I need the motivation to get out there and pedal!!

 Have a great week everyone!!

Well, everyone has done so well. Kathy, I know you are dedicated, but where did you go on vacation? I might go just in case phenomenal weight loss is in the water!

Me, I haven't had one of my unexplained gains in a while, but guess what...I gained 4.5 pounds this week! :s I'm at 159 pounds (back in the obese range) and I have crept back up to 1 to 1 1/2 hour workouts. I get so hooked on the fitbit numbers that I can't seem to control it! I didn't have any big gains when I had backed off to 45 minutes a day. I'm going to keep up the cardio at whatever I want and try to get this off without any changes. If it doesn't start to shed this week though, I will back off again to 45 minutes!

I picked up two pounds over the holidays. I didn't weigh in today. I'm giving the rest of my Christmas goodies to my son-in-law so I won't have that nagging urge to indulge.

    Hello all.
Jean and Computers. ....well done on staying under goal. Remember...maintenance is all about gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over.
Joan....I hope you soon come unstuck.
Deb and Kathy....congratulations on your loss this week. Especially Kathy....on vacation even! Impressive! :grinning:
W3....oh my mouth waters for pierogies but not enough to make them by hand.
Charlie....take good care of that heart of yours.

Since all the Christmas eating, my weight has been bouncing around a lot more but one it is at the low end of my range. On Monday I had one of my highest calorie days in months (fries AND bushwackers in one day!) so I hope that doesn't catch with me in a couple of days.

Charlie, we spent 8 wonderful days in that idyllic vacation destination: Buffalo, NY. Seriously, I love it there - it's always hard to come home. But it may be that fresh air off the lake blew away some calories! happy-074.gif

My hometown is just down I-90 a ways, Erie, PA. Hey, maybe it is in the water! Know all about that lake air. Especially in the spring when all the dead fish pop to the surface! Actually, I have always had a great sense of direction and claim it is because I can always smell the great Lakes and know which way is North! Must be something to it, because when I'm in Canada, I get all backwards!

I have yet to visit Erie but it is on my list of places I would like to see ... mainly because my Grandfather told me he had visited there a number of times and it was "a great town." My husband's hometown is Bradford, PA.

Really, my family was all from Kane! I know Bradford well -- icebox of the country! In fact, my neighbor across the street is originally from Bradford!

Erie's beaches are great, but glad I left.

OK all, I'm in Canada so have no sympathy for snow, ice and cold stories! I always lose more at this time of the year, just keeping moving and warm outside burns 'em up! I have been maintaining for a couple of years now, but would like to maybe move down another 4-5 pounds. Will see! It is true that maintaining is really just going up and down at that bottom range - in any case, it feels good, clothes feel good, but we have to wear so many of them at this time of year we might as well put the human layers back on!

keep up the great work, everyone

Human layers. That's a good phrase. I've had a couple of challenges but am getting back on track with exercise. The fitness should stand me in good stead, and the support of this site really, really helps. Last week was weird, with a larger-than-expected loss, making up for lower losses the prior two weeks. Bodies are strange things--this human layer can be an encumbrance, but we might as well take care of it best we can.
