I have a bottle of it in my pantry for making paleo mayo, but haven't tried it yet. (Have been using light olive oil for that.) Isn't avocado oil pretty expensive, compared to other healthy oils?

I use coconut oil for almost everything except mayo and homemade salad dressings, and I have a couple of recipes where I want the taste of butter, so I use butter (shrimp scampi is one).

Avocado oil is an excellent oil. I have used it in paleo mayo and in many other recipes.

Chosen Foods Avocado Oil, 500ml $13.95 at BJ's wholesale club, I believe that they also sell it at Costco. It is a great high temperature oil for frying just about anything. Also available from Amazon.com.

I used it for the first time this evening in the chicken recipe I tried, and the recipe turned out quite tasty at least: http://nomnompaleo.com/post/4207543396/damn-fine-chicken#. I saw it used in a bunch of other recipes, too, so I plan on using it a lot :) I got mine from Amazon.

I found it had too much taste for mayo. I would use it for salads or dressings. I use light olive oil or liquid coconut oil for mayo and most things

    The Definitive Guide to Oils.

He has since added cold pressed high oleic sunflower and safflower oils to this list of okay oils if you can find a good source.
