With 30 minutes by law but generally only 15-20 minutes in reality for lunch each day, how can a teacher eat healthy? Skipping meals is not an option for a healthy body or for weight loss. I eat lunch every day, but NEVER the school lunch. My best advice is to take a few minutes at home each night to pack your own lunch. I avoid things that need to be heated up only because that cuts into my limited lunch time. My typical lunch consists of low calorie yogurt, fresh veggies with humus or light ranch, rice cakes, a protein shake or a lean turkey sandwich on a whole grain sandwich thin. I snack a few times a day on fruit or nuts, these items are easy to eat, not much prep, and filling. The worst lunch at school is the tray lunch and even the salads are not healthy. They like too many unhealthy things on the salads like bacon bits and mounds of cheese paired with sugar laden dressings! Best of luck! I lost 2 pounds this week back after Christmas! You can too!!
