In our class, we are doing a linear periodization strength training program. Periodization basically means making deliberate changes to a workout over time to avoid plateaus or overtraining. The article below discusses a study done comparing two different periodization programs and the results the ladies got. The program we are doing is very similar to the protocol in the article.
