My dad just went into the hospital. He has kidney failure ( level 3) and hear problems. My entire family has health and weight issues and I am ready to make a change. For him and myself! Anyone with good recomendations??

Oh my ... I do think a nutritionist is in order to be spoken with. With kidney problems he'll be limited on sodium and protein. With heart issues he'll be limited on saturated fats ... sounds like he might have to eat a lot of vegetarian-type foods, which will probably be a big change over that he might resist making.0

There are many options in your favor. FIRST, get with the nutritionist or get doctor recommendations as to what the limitations are in you dad's diet. Then explore recipe ideas using lots of veggies, whole grains, and beans. My meat-loving teenage son loves my homemade black bean burgers, which are very easy to make and I prefer them to beef burgers any day. I am not a vegetarian, but I do think we should limit our intake of meats. The meat should be the side to the veggies and whole grains. I am no expert but I have learned a lot over the years. I wish you and your father the best and hope this is helpful.0
