I have just added two days of food logging to Cronometer and added four recipes. It is easy to use as has been said before by Jamaica2suns on NM. I might just go ahead and buy a membership so I can try out the gold plan.

The only problem with recipes is that it doesn't allow you to add that it makes 4 servings or 6 servings and then give you the choice of logging just one. You have to use a calculator to divide the total grams for the recipe into a serving. This will make a drop down box on the recipe with the choice of full recipe or 1 serving. I just noted in each of the recipes in the notes box how many servings and I also copied and pasted the entire recipe into the notes box with instructions. I don't like the notes box being so small though, I can't read everything without scrolling to the individual lines. That will make using it for cooking the recipes difficult while trying to read it on the screen. I want to be book free with my recipes when I am in the kitchen and I don't know if that will change with a gold membership or not.

I think I'll log at MFP and Cronometer when NM closes. So far I am now logging at all three for comparisons.

They are all close but not equal to each other. Cronometer is definitely easier to use than MFP though. I also see I can set Cronometer to see all Macronutrients on one page and I can set it to show me certain things like Fat, Carbs, etc.

I can see an almost equal to NM on Cronometer.

One thing NM doesn't have is to be able to copy and paste foods from one day to the next. You just highlight each of the foods you want to move from another day and paste them into the day your want. That was great when I realized the date had changed by time from friday to saturday on the calendar. This resulted in me adding all my foods on saturday for friday's log.

I highlighted everything by using the shift key and clicking on the food. Then went to the grey gear at the top right and Copied according to my choice.

Then changed the calendar to friday and clicked on the gear again and chose Paste and it all transferred to the new day. Wow I really liked that.

I can't make meals and menus at Cronometer like I can at NM, I like that ability and it looks like the only way to make a meals and menus is to have a gold membership on Cronometer. You can also set your meals as Breakfast, Lunch , Dinner, Snacks like we did on NM. Another reason I might get a membership.

I don't understand about the need for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. I have that on MFP right now--am I missing something?

Some people want to post according to the exact time they eat a food and others want it to be according to meal. These are just my observations for what each site provides according to some things which are important to me.

    TIP:
If you go to food settings, diary settings you can change your log Ins to times.

Thanks, yes that will be helpful for those who want to post on times instead of meals. I do meals because I plan my days ahead and it makes it easy to refer back when I need to eat. Also, it makes it easy for my husband to look at the log when I ask him what's for lunch. :D
