@Laughter--- I have to say it was the MOST AMAZING experience!!! I am so glad that I thoroughly followed the training schedule, there's no way I could have done with without my training buddies!! I train with 4 co-workers, 3 of us did the full and 2 the half. We try to train together at least for our long runs but keep each other accountable through text messages. For two of us it was our first marathon, we trained together at least 75% of our runs (we also live close by) and we ran 25.5 of the miles together. I took the advice of one of my friends who has run several marathons and my goal was to soak every mile in and have FUN, which we did. I am definitely not the fastest but I beat my initial goal by over 30minutes and my "fantasy" goal by 3minutes. Everything went perfect, from the weather (nice cool front came through), carb loading- probably my favorite part, staying hydrated and fueling during the run. I did it, I enjoyed it, I was able to walk the next day and did a nice slow recovery run on Tuesday, and I will probably never do another one again. I think I am going to stick with the 1/2 Marathons, not as much of a commitment for training and my husband will be happy to have some Sunday mornings where we can sleep past 5am. With that being said, my training partner and I have a 1/2 Ironman scheduled for April, another new experience!! So, I will hopefully be posting fewer runs and more swimming/biking (if training goes as planned). Sorry so long but it's hard to describe, would definitely recommend it. I did like the fact that it was a huge event, always someone running close by to motivate us and well organized.
Signing up for a race is definitely one way that I stick to a training schedule. :D;)

I enjoyed a butts & guts class tonight. Yes, it's as brutal as it sounds, but I made it through. :D

R_Queenie - I sure hope you feel much better soon. You're not getting old by the way. You're just getting better. Perfection takes time. ;)

Scherzie - My hat is off to you. Congratulations again!!! I appreciate the information. I am scheduled for my first 1/2 marathon in Oct., but I haven't officially started training for that just yet. I've got to get ready for my first 10K in March. Because you were so dedicated to your training, I will plan to do the same. It definitely worked for you. You are a true workhorse, but it is very inspiring for me. I know you will do well for that 1/2 ironman. You're unstoppable!!! Also, all this time I thought you were a man, but I believe you're a woman (I based that solely on you mentioning your husband, which doesn't actually mean you are a lady.). Nevertheless, if you are indeed a woman, I'm that much more impressed with you, and I'll be one of your biggest (not literally I hope) fans. :D Keep it up!

Just a 30 minute "low impact" cardio workout. Just to be clear, there was nothing low impact about that workout except there was no jumping. :D

It was a long day, and I didn't feel like working out nor did I really have the time. Therefore, I just did a 10 minute strength training workout, and I'm glad I did. I actually feel a bit stronger.

Bruce - Congratulations on reaching your goal!! Woohoo!!
Scherzie - You're my shero!!! :D Thanks for the training link.
