I just had to share this link, thought it was so true.

I am totally ruined in that yoga has become so close to every thought in every day,
my spending is now on yoga books and yoga mats, and yoga pants.
I spend more time being aware of my now and accepting how I am right here right now regardless of the state Im in. :) Life will never be the same again!

Share some ways in which yoga has ruined your life....?

Namaste..

:D I'm really new to this but can already feel it's becoming a bit of an obsession, perhaps I should stop now before it's too late .... and OMG how bendy were they!

:p I did the same thing when I first started practicing. Then I realized that what I really needed was less of everything and I embraced minimalism. This has actually helped my practice deepen and has become part of living my yoga. Don't get me wrong, I still love a great pair of yoga pants and I'm not shy about spending some dough on good ones :D

I have minimalist leanings as well; but I have a fairly large collection of yoga stuff:
Props: 6 blocks (two I use at my computer desk because my legs are short), 4 straps, 8 blankets, 2 dowels, 2 backless chairs, 2 sandbags, a meditation bench, a rope, too many mats*, and a backbender (a fairly expensive piece of equipment, see here: http://store.yogamartusa.com/backbender-large-dwi-pada-viparita-dandasana-bench/ - I found mine on craigslist). I don't have a rope wall yet. If you look at my profile pic, you will see one in the background.

I still have the same yoga pants from 8 years ago and I wear them every day - I wish my jeans lasted this long! I have about 7 pairs (company stopped making them and I can't find any like it :# - they are a lot looser than most I try on, but still form fitting)

I have a shelf and a half of yoga books, some I've read all the way through, some I mean to read.

I spend a good deal of money on yoga workshops & training. I'm going to one this weekend - 2 hours tonight, 5 hours tomorrow, 2.5 on Sunday is the regular schedule for these. Cost is usually around $200 per weekend. I go to at least 6 a year. My husband does many of them too. I'll spend $500 on teacher training this year - I already have a 500h training, this money is for extra teacher's practices and testing fees (I'm going up for Iyengar yoga certification).

So it's only downhill from here ;)

*never throw away old mats - they are great around the house: I have one in my trunk to stop the groceries from sliding around. You can cut them up and use them on top of blocks to keep your hands from sliding. They will also catch cat litter. Here are some more:

Shucks now I'm feeling left out, I've only got a mat and a couple of blocks ;)

Haha Ive also only got 2 blocks and 2 mats.. one is old and starting to tear, and the newer mat is just too damn slippery. Facepalm. Plan on splurging on a new one. But I would love an extra length mat, Im 6ft2 and I hate it when my feet come off my mat when transitioning from cobra to downdog.

Yoga pants, psh, those are too damn expensive. I use regular old cheap leggings  Im spending more money on yoga books and classes at the moment.

And yes they are totes bendy!!
