Hi, All! My name is Brandi. New to the group here. I thought I would give a little bit about me and how I came to be diagnosed with Endometriosis.

About 10 years ago, I had very heavy periods and normal cramps. But, I had boughts of depression also. The flows were horrible; I would go through 2 super tampons and tons of pads and still leak through my clothes. My doctor diagnosed me at that time with PMDD and put me on Yaz. After a month on the pill, it made me go crazy (so much so, I tried to choke my mom...no lie...best friend present and my brother holding me down). I got off the pill in 2006 and dealt with my periods. The moods I live with also (later found out in 2009, I have schizo-affective disorder which explained the moods).

So, back to the endo....my husband and I decided to try to start a family last summer. Last June, I had two herniated discs in my back from an injury. Saw my gyno around October who said I should be preggers in 6 months since my cycles were on time...blah blah blah....After about 6 months, around my period, I was getting bad pains with my period that I couldn't walk and just blamed it on my injury that it was just pinching that area and would go to work and deal with it (since it was my L4 and L5). However, after 8 months, my orthopedic doctor told me my herniated discs were healed. Two weeks later, that excruciating pain came back...when I called my gyno, the nurse said get in here IMMEDIATELY!

They did a ultrasound and, thankfully, found no cysts. But, diagnosed me initially stage II endo. I was relieved I knew what it may be but devastated. The doctor looked and it had been 9 months since we started trying and he said this was probably the main reason that was causing my infertility. I'm on 2 months of monitoring my temps and cycles, currently, and have an appointment to follow up with him this Wednesday. As I type right now, I started my cycle yesterday and haven't been able to walk since yesterday evening and have been bedridden all day today.

So, I'm reading about cinnamon and cinnamon pills and how they have helped reduce flows and possibly help with endo. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm totally sipping a tablespoon of cinnamon and a tablespoon of cocoa with some stevia just because I'm trying ANYTHING at this point. lol. Anyone find anything that works for them? My friend is suggesting some maca root also.
