For geeks like me, I'm trying to get the most bang for my legume buck. If you're not familiar with black soy beans EDEN has a great one.

Oh, and black beans and black soybeans rock in a smoothie. I swear I'm going to master the entire g-bomb smoothie with the help of ginger and turmeric.

I love lentils... they are my favorites. I haven't tried the black soybeans but I keep seeing them.

Thanks for the comparison. I have been looking at the nutrition in different beans lately and noticed that white beans like Navy beans and Great Northern beans have much higher amounts of calcium in them compared to other beans. Also soybeans are very high in calcium.

When I make hummus, I use both garbanzo beans and white beans to boost nutritional values.

Here is a table I saw online. Sorry the formatting doesn't show up when I pasted it in here.

    Bean 1 cup Calcium (mg)

    Adzuki Beans (Aduki) 64.0
    Black Beans 46.0
    Black-eyed Peas (Cowpeas) 39.0
    Cranberry Beans 88.0
    Fava Beans (Broadbeans) 61.0
    Garbanzos (Chickpeas) 80.0
    Great Northern Beans 120.0
    Kidney Beans 50.0
    Lentils 38.0
    Lima Beans, large 32.0
    Mung Beans 15.0
    Navy Beans 126.0
    Pink Beans 88.0
    Pinto Beans 79.0
    Soybeans 175.0
    Split Peas 27.0

Black soybeans are super tasty. Very...nutty tasting. Good Hot or cold. Great on a salad.
The difference in carb count between black beans and black soybeans is stunning.
