    Well if anyone comes across this post that also wants to know, I got the Kathoola Nano Spikes and they seem to be OK in my minimalist shoes.

    I have the Kahtoola microspikes and I love them for snowy trail runs and moderately icy hikes, I use Hillsound crampons for steeper or icier climbs because the Kahtoolas sometimes let my feet slip. I don't wear hiking boots, but both fit perfectly over my trail running shoes and my minimalist running shoes.
