Hey, just so we can know each other a bit... I live in Tennessee at the moment, originally from Northern VA and a few places in between, do local day hiking and a lot of weekend hiking/backpacking in the Smokies. I grew up in a big family and including three brothers- with so many kids (read: not a lot of money), our…
Jest check to see if anyone is out there interested in hiking the trail? I'm planning on hiking southbound in June 2020.
I tried to start this thread in the fitness section, but didn't go anywhere. Maybe it will have more results here. It's like the title says post some of your favorite pictures taken while hiking.
Hello all! I would like to briefly introduce myself. I'm from Pennsylvania and will be moving to New Hampshire in March 2019. I've been hiking since I was a teen, but have been actively hiking since 2015. I'm looking to make new hiker connections, so send me a friend request if you're looking for a virtual hiking buddy.…
For trail running, I put together a new lightweight and yet comprehensive wag bag. You may notice there is not only plenty of TP for multiple uses, but also 3 doses of loperamide... just in case. Longest was 6.8 miles today, but nothing w/ any significant elevation in my opinion. I want to get out a lot more b/c I really like it. Can anyone give recommendations on basic gear to buy? Like…

Took some pictures hiking Bandera Mt / Mason Lake, WA
It was the toughest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m glad I did it.

I figured that there is no reason to try to cut weight out of my backpack if I was just going to carry an extra 20-30lbs around my middle. So far, so good. I started the year at 212 (overweight for 5' 11"). I am heading…

He was locked in the shelter for over 2 yrs, no one wanted him because previous adopter that returned him said he was aggressive. He's just miss understood. This was his first real…
