Newbie cycling and losing

Well, I am new to this group, but thought that it would be a good fit for me. I'm not considered overweight, but the additional 30 lbs I have gained to my 5'7" stature feels the excess. I recently noticed I started having lower back pains, and when clothes start fitting more snug, you know it's time to do something. I recently started bicycling to and from work 10 miles each way. I am hoping within a month or so I will be back down to my desired 135. I am keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath....

    Wow! 10 miles each way, thats awesome! I don't ride a bicycle or anything so I couldn't tell you personally how fast it will take off the weight. But I knew a guy a couple of years ago that lost close to a 100 lbs by riding his bike and of course eating right. So I'd say your on the right track! Good job!
