dining halls

Does anyone else rely on the dining halls for most of their food? I'm a freshman in the dorms so I don't really have much of a choice other than dining hall food. Does anyone have any tips on how to eat healthy in the dining halls?

All about that salad bar and fresh fruit and vegetables! Also, many campuses list their nutritional information online. Preplanning meals when going to the dining hall can help out quite a bit!0

Don't! If you must socialize in the Caf, BRING YOUR OWN LOW/NO-CAL FUEL OR DRINK, OR (even better) FAST, and enjoy the conversation. You will initially have trouble paying attention in afternoon classes/tutoring, but that's when you fasten your big person pants and move on b/c that faint feeling, fatigue and stomachache (which actually feel really good, IMHO) is your body burning the million unneeded calories you've consumed to get here, so that they can give you the missing energy.
I'm really sorry if that was mean, but the above has helped me lose 19 lbs in college. Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -
Hey there, I'm also a college freshman. I've come to rely on the salad bar in our dining hall. Also, only drink water. It's amazing how many calories the juices or lemonades that they serve have. Hope this helps!0
