i just did w3d1 this morning it seem like each week day 1 I get into my head about the jump in time running 1-1.5-3 so I slowed my run down from 5.3 which I had been doing previous weeks to to 4.9 I usually walk at 3.5. The difference between my walk and run speed feels so small was just wondering if others had same experience

I walk at 3.3 and today I ran a longer run at 4.7/4.6. I was able to do weeks one and two at 5. The longer the run, the slower i have to go. I ran 2.25 miles today and there is no way I could have gone that long at 5 or even 4.8. For me, distance is more important than speed. Yeah, I run slow, but I run!

Speed comes with distance. NOt clear whether you're on a dreadmill or not, but personally I find my problem is that I go out faster and then settle into a slightly slower speed.

The main thing is to finish the running portions, once you can run for 30 minutes then you can think about improving your pace.

Oh, nothing strange there. Many report they run slower than walk actually.

Once you increase distance, as a beginner you'll gain in speed, too, so just focus on completing each interval as it's supposed to be done for now.

If you don't run a full 5K when graduating, that's not unusual either, so thereafter you'll work on increasing your running to that.
