Experienced (and successful) Juddder's advice...

I was excited to find this simple, and effective diet! So I started it, but haven't had much success, it seems...
As best I could, I have been following it for 10 days now. 8 days in, my weight dropped 1.6 pounds, and then came back. It seems like expected weight loss is usually more. I would be happy with anything, though!
I believe this is a good eating plan for general health, I will continue with it whether it results in immediate weight loss or not, but I hoped that maybe some of you could spot something I am doing wrong. My diary is open.
I eat as close I can to 500 calories on the DD's, (sometimes I go a little over), and will probably lessen my DD calories that on my next week. And I get about 1000-1300 on my UD. My stomach goes wacky often and I have started taking a probiotic, so that it won't be so sensitive.
Oh, and I usually exercise a lot more than I have been. I dialed down so that I would know what is working, diet or exercise. I still stay as active as I can.
Advice welcome, and appreciated!!!

Your calorie goals seem really low to me. Maybe try re-calculating them: http://www.johnsonupdaydowndaydiet.com/html/how-to-do-the-diet.html
Unless you are really, really small - they seem wrong. A 60 year old, 100 lb, 4 foot tall, sedentary female gets more calories than you seem to be set for.
And you should eat all of your calories whatever the goals work out to be.
If you want to eat this few calories - you might want to check with a doctor - VLCD diets usually require specific supplements and doctor supervision.0 -
Ok, thanks, I will try upping my calories on my UD.
I am 5' 3" and have a small frame.
Am I eating too much on my DD?0 -
I hate to be simplistic on this - but just try eating what the calculator on the website (link above) says.
I felt the need to play with numbers a lot back in Jan/Feb when I was starting - but anymore just following those numbers, for me, results in about 2-3 lbs a week of loss - every week.
My advice would be to try those numbers for 2-3 weeks - and be strict about weighing and measuring your food - I bet you'll lose at a decent rate (although - if you are already small - it will be slower).0 -
go by the website calculator. generally you want a difference of at least 1000 calories between up days and down days. many people go by 500/2000 cals.0

Thanks for the advice and encouragement. After I posted this, my weight did start to go down, but it seems to be put on hold now because of TOM. I just hope it continues...0
