^ stupid scale. Hmmmph.
Yucky day today so not sure what I'll do. In other news, DH got tickets to go back to US for the first two weeks in March. Here we go again.0 -
^^ word.
Okay, I'm too old to say word but my scale hasn't been friendly lately.
Last night after work a vendor took my team out for a work dinner and it was---surprisingly---one of the best meals I've ever had. Now that's worth the calories.
The winter blues have found me and I'm counting down until daylight saving time begins. Mama needs sunshine!!!
I'm seeing my trainer on Friday and Monday am excited/scared. I'm taking a two month Saturday class and haven't been working out very much since I have a lot of homework to do.
Sherry, wow! You'll be here before you know it! Hopefully the weather will be nice to you.

Sherry- Walking in the snow sounds fun! Are you all coming to the U.S. or just the hubby?
April - What was the meal? I'm curious now.. I live in phoenix so we have kind of the opposite, we get the summer blues since it's harder to get outside. But generally I've enjoyed Phoenix sooooo much more than the MN weather I grew up in. It's still possible to get out and workout even in the summers where it seemed next to impossible many of the days back in MN. But still, I'm not looking forward to summer where we all end up cooped up in the house a lot. We plan to take a lot of camping trips into the mountains.
Got my sprints in yesterday and even did my upper body weight lifting. I also finally called and scheduled dentist appointments, doctor appointments, and vision appointments. Phew! That's been hanging over me for months now, so I'm glad. Our dentist had retired and I've been dragging my feet to find a new one because it takes time. But I finally just looked up reviews on a dentist office we saw just down the street from our house. They had good reviews so I made appointments. It's a family place so instead of going to two separate offices for kids and grown ups we can all go to the same place. And it's REALLY close.
Have a fantastic Wednesday!0 -
People liked house, stayed a hour looking at it realtor said, but didn't get it because they want 4 bedroom not 3. I still feel good because after all our hard work she said house showed well, even though most of our projects not totally done.
We finally got one day of sun after weeks of overcast and fog and rain. Went for long walk yesterday.
Today I am going to finish taxes and start organizing for my next trip. I leave next Tues for almost 3 weeks. Driving alone to check out where we are going to move and visit mom and daughter.
I have been doing a ton of emotional eating past two months and I feel like a blimp! I am going to love myself and move on. It's normal to try to comfort ourselves and we can't always do it in the right way...exercise, baths, etc.
It's going to be really stressful for me until move is over and that won't be for a long time, so I need to take peace in the moments I can. I really thought this was my last move, we bought this property and built house as retirement forever place.
I want to say thank you to this group because you are one of the supports in my life. It's wonderful to be with a group who want to be healthy together.0 -
Hear, hear, Marla! This is a WONDERFUL group! You all have been very supportive for me too. <virtual group hug>
Valma, I know it feels good to check nagging things off the list. I went to the dentist and the eye doctor this month
So the meal I had last night was a special, I don't know what it was called but it was black squid ink pasta with shrimp, clams, and a greek yogurt/sour cream/lemon/caper sauce. It just hit every note perfectly. I'm not a big foodie (hello, I love to dump stuff in my crock pot) but that was awesome.0 -
lol, val, we think alike--I'm like April, what was the meal?!? Also, val, if you find a good dds, hang on to them! I still haven't found a good dds to replace my wonderful dds from when I was a teenager! (I keep switching around with no luck)
marla, that's a great signal for eventually selling the house! Good work! Moving can be very emotional. Just think of it like, "The Universe can't bring me to something better if I am still hanging on to 'what was'."
April, maybe a little phototherapy at the local tanning club? Just once a week can do wonders for the blues. You can even ask for a "weak" unit, so you don't necessarily effect your skin, just get the UV light.
Unfortunately, that's only DH coming to US. I had wanted to spend March in US with lil girl, but DH's business revved up a little on his last trip and he had to plan a second trip, so I have to stay to keep son in school. That means me & the kids will probably come in June & July when school lets out.
Today the school called to pick kids up early (due to weather I suppose, perhaps because some schools don't have heat, idk). So I picked son up and brought him home and when DH got home, he changed into workout clothes and took son to tutor and went to the gym. It took alot of convincing from me that this is the best set-up. DH doesn't like leaving the neighborhood of the tutor when son is there (helicopter dad), but for days he's been saying he'd go to the gym in the evening but gets too tired. I convinced him that (1) it's more convenient to go when you're already out of the house with time to kill and (2) it's much less busy at the gym in the afternoon than the evening (3pm vs 5pm). So although I didn't get any workout (besides a pillow fight with lil girl, haha), I feel good to have motivated DH.
And I totally agree Marla, especially on days like today when I didn't get a workout, it's great to have this group to motivate, inspire, and support each other and keep me from falling into a deep rut (at least not for too long anyway).

Too tired to make the comments all of your posts deserve, but I read all of them. You guys are great.
Day trip today for work to the 2nd location of our office. It's 135 miles from my house and the roads were bad for over half the drive down (got a decent amount of snow last night). Then the temps plummeted today. So I'm "enjoying" one of those MN winters. But I had a chance to stop & do some shopping on the way home at a few stores we don't have near where I live, so that was fun. It took me 2:45 to drive down there and 3:45 to get back (including my stops) so that was a lot of hours in the car today.0
