I just wanted to share that I saw a response to a post in chit chat, fun and games today that made me so sad.

I'll paraphrase it.....no butter for me.

And people say low carb is like deprivation.

Don't worry about them. You know you are doing what works for you :).

That's also why I don't want to do low fat... it's like deprivation!

^^Oh, I'm not worried. I found it to be very, very sad because I know what she's missing. ;-)

It is really sad that people can't be more open and accepting.

My mom doesn't agree with my eating choices, she tells me that it's unhealthy when we get on the subject, but we pretty much leave it at that. She is a weight watchers lover - which is great for her. When they come over for dinner I try to make dishes that are lower in fat and carbs, if not I will warn her or give a different option. Even though she doesn't agree, she gives me the same courtesy when I go over their house.. although the only thing she thinks I eat is meat, cream cheese and cauliflower.

My Dr yesterday asked me.... "Did you really lose 55 pounds since our last visit?" My answer yes... "Was it intentional?" Again yes. Then he asked what I was doing... "Oh, low carb." At the end of the appointment he said "Great job, keep up the good work."

That makes you feel good. The last time I saw my diabetic doctor, he was so happy he shook my hands and told me to keep it up....

My wellness coach (who's a nurse) through my work is well aware of my choice to stick to low carb. She doesn't say anything to sway me and is fine with my choice.

Actually the only time I told someone I eat low carb who was a "professional" and tried to sway me the other way was someone who worked at a gym. They also sold Herbalife there so...yeah....obviously top notch education in nutrition ;)
