So I started my 2 week liquid diet (and hating it..) on the 10th. The first couple days I was fine, continued my water aerobics on thursday and seemed to do okay, but the day after I noticed when I got up and moved around my heart was beating harder then normal. Not necessarily fast but I could feel them against my chest..this is only taking a couple steps.I also had some heart palpitations today after sitting down.. I have a history of heart problems and heart palpitations and at one time I was technically in heart failure (heart was only pumping at 34%) but since I lost 200lbs I've had minimal heart palpitations and as of september my heart was pumping at the normal 55. I called the on call dr today and he didn't seem worried about it, but with my history of course I sure am. My liquid diet consists of 3 protein shakes a day, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello and chicken broth. With 64 oz of water a day. I usually end the day about 500-580 calories..I'm not sure I can deal with another week of this if it doesn't stop..Did anyone else experience this? I know some surgeons don't require 2 weeks liquid diet but mine sure does.

You have done so well, you can get through the next week or so. After a few weeks, this will seem like a blip on the timeline.

You are giving yourself few calories, so exercise might feel different with so much less in your system. Keep in touch with your doctor, and I cut down my exercise during the pre-op diet.

    You'll get through this!
