Saw the thread starter on Facebook this morning and was glad to see nobody had started today's thread yet so I could use it. I try really hard to adopt a "no excuses" mentality but sometimes they're so easy to come by.
Determined to have a good week. Texted my trainer yesterday to ask him to set a calorie goal for me, then had a good talk with him last night. He thinks I'm struggling so much getting back on track with my eating because I've lost confidence in myself. I'm still pondering that.
Got in a walk with my friend (who was stressed out from work so we walked even faster than usual), then I did my C25K run last night (25 minute run with 5 minute walks before & after) and had my session with Jason. We did a Crossfit-inspired endurance test at the beginning of my workout. He had me do a circuit of 5 assisted pull-ups, 10 modified push-ups and 15 squats, repeating the circuit as many times as I could in 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes I had gotten through the full circuit 7 times + 3 pull-ups. Jason wrote down the results so we have something to compare to next time. I was worried about my legs being tired from my run but the squats went fine; it was my arms that were fried by the end. Day 1 with Jason he gave me credit for 1 modified push-up (which was a gift). Last night I did 70 strong ones, plus 38 pull-ups and 105 squats, in 10 minutes. I've been feeling wimpy lately so it's good to remind myself where I started.
Pilates after work, then my final swim lesson. I missed the past 2 classes - was sick last week & had gotten stuck in the snow 2 weeks ago - so not sure what I missed.

Great threadstarter!
Laura, I think there's such an ebb and flow of enthusiasm wrt diet, but when it comes to working out as you saw from your test, progress comes when you stick to it. That was a great test result! Just think, if you work hard, you'll be topping that before you know it!
So today I dropped son off and went for a run to the beach. It was sunny and hot (at least to me). The beach was nice and just what I needed. I've noticed that my heart rate recovers soooo much quicker (this is HUGE), hills don't seem as steep, speed for the same HR has improved a little on flat straightaways, and my perception of "distance" has really changed. All of this long slow distance and heart rate training is starting to give noticeable results! Hope I don't lose too much for the two weeks DH is gone when I won't be able to run. :-( Anyway, ran 5.91 mi today.0 -
For me it's all about stress. I tend to emotionally eat so if things going well I am eating well. I am working on learning to handle life stuff! Lol
I woke up yesterday with a kink in my neck and shoulders so no exercise. It's better today but I am busy with friend all day. Going to see her new grand baby which the mom is also my daughters best friend. Because she lives out of state being in military I will see baby before her.
