Training Advice for my First Half

Hi everyone, This October 2013 will be my first half marathon. In October 2012, I couldn't even run one mile. Then I decided to finally do what I always said I would do and get in shape, get healthy, and stop all the excuses and the "I can'ts". I ran my first 5k in the spring of 2013 with a lot of hard work and some encouragement from a good friend and got it done with an average of a 10 minute mile; I was so proud of myself. I've decided that running the half marathon is the grand finale, the way to say, hey, I did it, it can be done.
Well.. at least, I hope it can be done! I would love any and ALL advice or training suggestions to get me there. Currently I can run about six miles without stopping but that's the longest distance I've ever gone... it takes me a little over an hour. I have a few months to get ready and I just want to do it right... if I should be trying to flat out run the whole thing or if intervals are better, sprint jog walk... whatever worked for you?! Thank you thank for any advice!
