What to do if you messed up a fast day

does anybody ever mess up a fast day? (Accidentally eat wayyy over 500 calories) how do you make up for it?

If it's way over I would probably treat it as a normal day & move my fast day to another. That's what I like about 5:2, it's so flexible.
I try not to beat myself up about it as negative feelings about what I've eaten usually lead to me giving up altogether & binging.0 -
If I'm only over by 100 or 200 calories, I'd just call it a fast day, but if I went WAY over, I'd treat it as a feast day and fast another day!0

I tend to eat up to 750 on fast days and still consider it a fasting day. I usually try to do 4:3.0

As above....up to 800 I call it a fast, if I go higher, I eat a bit more, count it as a normal day and fast another day.
What you shoudn't do, is beat yourself up about it. Fasts are sometimes hard for different reasons. Sometimes they just don't happen.0 -
Thanks guys. It was a wayyyy over day. About 2000 calories. I stress ate. Oops. So I guess I'll fast another day0
