Laura - congrats on all your accomplishments in swimming! When does the next class start?
Sherry - Ooooo...some me time! That sounds amazing!

Yesterday went a little better food wise. Basically, I decided not to worry about staying in my calories count. I could eat when I felt like eating. But only healthy snacks. I had some fruit, veggies, yogurt, etc. It helped. I went over...but logged everything. So going to have the same strategy today and slowly work myself into better habits eating. Tonight is our school fundraiser at McDonalds. I'll have the kids eat there, and I'll eat when I get home. I have my swim today and lower body strength training as well. Which will be interesting since the little guy I watch is not going home until later tonight. I may have to do it later. We'll see.

    Have a great Thursday!

Hi!! Rain day here, equals rest day! I felt I needed a little rest yesterday but it was so nice I ran, and as a result I feel pretty good today and would rather run, but with rain, I'll take the rest. Should do some dumbbell work or hit the gym, but I'm so not into it right now. Things are getting a bit stressed here leading up to DHs trip and the deadlines, etc., and me and the kids are just trying to hang on til then.

    Have a good one!

I noticed last night after eating good all day, I ate too much while daughter and I got into a stressful conversation about her teen daughter. Today's another day!

Both yesterday and today doing mini hikes at this huge park they have around two tiny lakes with trails. It's a great place. I went with daughter yesterday and a old friend today.

I made a healthy pasta the other night and even teens ate it. Linguini with fresh spinach, tomatoes, tilapia fish, drizzled with garlic mushroom olive oil from my job instead of sauce and fresh shredded Parmesan.

Oh, and drizzled fresh squeezed lemon juice too....I let my inner Italian out! Lol

It's so nice being in Santa Rosa, I swear they have the best weather. Today sunny high 70.

Hello! I am new to the group and very excited to have found it. My goal today is at least 30 minutes of exercise. I wanted to post now for accountability and make sure I do it :)

Val I've spent the past couple of weeks just trying to focus on better food choices, and no this week am working on limiting calories again as well. It was easier to break it into segment like that, and once I was making better food choices the calorie count got a lot easier as well. The next sessions of swim classes aren't posted yet for sign-up so not sure when it will start. I looked online yesterday and the one posted was the one I just completed. As I recall I signed up in December and class started mid-January, so I'm guessing it will be early to mid April when the next one kicks off.

Marla that sounds wonderful! Stress eating is so easy and so not worth it in the end. At least for me it makes me feel worse afterward instead of better. I'm pretty jealous about the weather. It's sunny here but still stupid cold.

Sherry I know that feeling of wanting to move on your rest days! But your body will thank you for it.

Welcome RisingAboveIt! Happy to have a new member to the group. Stop back later and let us know how the workout felt.

I'm typing this from the treadmill desk at work. Am thinking I will bike and/or row tonight since I got in my run last night, so I'm trying to get my steps in early. Also have a session with my trainer tonight. I have a few questions for him so I've got a list started because I don't want to forget anything.

Welcome Rising! Just saw your intro, but wanted to welcome you in the daily thread too. Let us know how it goes (or doesn't). Don't be shy about slip ups or missed workouts. It's checking-in through thick and thin that creates accountability. We've all got busy lives and I've learned a lot of great tips and ideas from friends here about different workouts, faster healthier meals, and juggling it all.

I did it! I went to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical.
