I liked this thread starter when I saw it. It's not like anyone else makes me binge eat a bunch of junk or ignore my alarm and not get up for a workout. It's nice to call it what it actually is...self sabotage.

So far I'm still well. *fingers crossed* It was supposed to rain this morning, so instead of biking outside I decided to do the indoor trainer after my Pilates class. When it rains here in Phoenix, it can't go anywhere because the ground is baked hard. So everything floods. Not fun for a bike ride, and the people here drive crazy and freak out and I don't want to be out there with that. I'm also planning on taking the kids to the zoo if it's not pouring. I might take them even if it is.

Oh yes! That is a good one for the thread starter today!
val, hope your fam is starting to feel better. Keep dry today. ;-)

Just thought I'd check-in while I'm waiting for Garmin to update and synch my watch. Today DH had to go do some work and when he got back, I went for a run. Started a little later than I'd liked, but ran down to the beach and just kept going and going along the beach and the coastal hwy. Eventually I decided I'd do all my running down there where it'd stay light the longest (it was getting close to sundown and the sun sets over the water, keeping it lighter longer there vs if I run back up the big hwy towards the city center, to home). So I did all my running down there and then caught the bus back. Got in a hard-fought 14mi, considering I had a back ache the entire time (pms, maybe?). Usually aches and pains go away within the first few miles of running, but this lower back ache stayed the whole time, which leads me to believe it might be hormonal/pms.

DH leaves bright and early Tues morning. I've made arrangements with a lady at my son's tutor, to keep lil girl for those 2 hours everyday while son is doing his homework. That'd give me 2hrs per day M-F (while DH is gone) to run or go to the gym. It'll be my only "me time". All pending lil girl's cooperation of course. Neither of my kids have ever had a babysitter and lil girl has only gone with her Greek grandfather without a parent twice in her life (both was during DH's last trip). In USA, they spend time with cousins, aunts, grandparents, etc, but not here...so fingers are crossed she cooperates.

Anyway, tired and needing to grab some late dinner, so will sign off for now and read y'all later!

I really needed to see this thread starter right now! I've done so well with eating this week (yesterday wasn't perfect but it was close enough considering I left the house at 6:00 am and didn't get home again until 9:00 pm), and here it is again, Saturday afternoon, and I'm wanting to snack. And by "snack" I mean take in 1000 extra calories. I went to Sam's Club last night and Walmart this morning so I'm well stocked with food right now, and while it's all healthy stuff that doesn't mean I can't get in trouble. I had a Greek yogurt & a banana for my afternoon snack, which is plenty to tide me over until dinner. I have a roast in the crockpot and it smells amazing, so the smell of food isn't doing anything to control my appetite. I'm also making oven roasted brussel sprouts - my first time eating sprouts. Found a recipe with olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh rosemary, pine nuts & parmesan cheese that I'm going to try. I'm also adding a little bit of bacon because when I asked for opinions that was an overwhelming response. I put it in the recipe builder & it comes out to 170 calories per serving, but considering everything in it that's not so bad.

Today's run was 7 miles - so half as far as Sherry went, and I guarantee not as pleasant since I was on the treadmill instead of on the beach. First time doing it all on the treadmill instead of breaking up with the elliptical, but still doing run/walk intervals. I did a 5 minute warm-up on the bike, then a few sets of a new dynamic stretch sequence Jason showed me Friday, then did four intervals of running 1.25 miles & walking 1/2 mile. The first three felt pretty good but dang I was tired during the final one.

Hope you continue to stay healthy, Val!

Sherry hope your daughter cooperates with the plan. Would be so nice for you to get some breaks.
