I've heard of IF for a while now and happened upon 5:2 fasting this week. I've been trying to read all I could to get a full understanding of it. I think, from my reading, that it is a way of eating that will easily fit into my lifestyle.
So, hello. New here and hoping to learn more and doing my first week of 5:2 beginning on Monday.

Welcome I am new to this as well, only 2 weeks but lost 2kg already and happy about that, quite a fast weight loss compared to before was such a battle. I am excited about this too! and I dont feel sick or anything on my fast days but if you do, always know you have 500 cals to play with so you can have that snack0

Today was my fast day and I feel like I spent the entire day eating!
2 poached eggs for breakfast, chicken broth for lunch, steamed fish for dinner. I did nibble on two protein balls as well for a snack0 -
Thank you everyone. I've only been awake an hour but have had some water, did my meditation, and waiting for the coffee to brew. I'm still debating w/ myself on whether to have a very light breakfast and then wait until dinner or wait for lunch. I think I'll just listen to my body and if hunger gets unbearable, I'll go from there.
I was figuring out some meal ideas yesterday and realized that while 500 calories is not a lot, it's not horrible either. If I pick the right foods, I can have 1 or 2 decent meals and a light snack during the day. I'm really wanting my non-eating hours to be the majority, though, to get the full experience of a fast, so my plan is to only consume a very light lunch and larger dinner.
I'm rambling at this point. Took N00B, lol. Thank you for such warm welcomes. I appreciate it so much.0 -
Welcome MzShelle, experiment with eating times we are all different and it is a question of finding what's best for you. Eg: First week I had 3 small meals, 2nd week lunch and dinner, then 3rd week just dinner. The biggest surprise was that I felt fine without breakfast, but if I had breakfast I felt seriously hungry all day, many people have reported this Anyhow I settled on a full 16-18hr fast, I usually have Buollion and a cracker around 2pm after the gym then a main meal of veg and some sort of protein at around 7pm. From a health point of view this give my body a good length of fast, I have to say I feel great, and hunger is not actually a big deal, it comes in waves and soon passes. All the best DRINK LOTS OF WATER0

Thank you, Foxgym. I'm glad that the water habit is already in place. I'm averaging 2.5-3 liters a day. I also like my hot teas and bought a couple new types tomorrow.
I figure, one point of me doing the 5:2 WOE is to get back to listening to my body. So I'll listen to it and if it's telling me it needs nourishment, I'll give it some nourishment. But my ultimate goal is to mimic you: a full 16-18 hour fast.
