It is fun to see a smart person leap into the public eye and make the most of it.
Johnathan Bailor, a Microsoft employee, and trainer has a new book and is on the circuit to promote it.
This one minute book promo clip 70% of Americans Are NOT Stupid and Lazy is a hyped fast intro to attract the younger audience. You can see the difference in his approach in both clips: t-shirt and casual sweater vs respectful vest & necktie for 'mom and dad' audience.*
Second, in this TV 'news' clip, to a mature audience, you can see him SLOWLY slip in the message of LCHF..never outright claiming "Eat fried eggs in butter! loads of bacon!. He brilliantly introduces the idea by mentioning veggies as the 'hero', and bacon droppings the modest "good fats" pal. I wish him much success!

If you stuck thru his 1.27 hour original video then you know he's got it figured out.
(Microsoft Research: The Calorie Myth & 6 Reasons Calorie Counting is Crazy with Jonathan Bailor-youtube)
*Retirees have time to attend daytime talk shows, but the under 40 & working crowd admire the 'gym rat' message, and lots of fast visuals. He's perfect in both… it is Marketing for the best of reasons- fighting national obesity!

The Calorie Myth isn't really a new book, just FYI. It was published over a year ago.
It's also not really LCHF, but more low sugar, moderate carb, moderate fat, moderate to high(ish) protein (results are probably more around about 30% split, give or take). The book emphasizes non-starchy vegetables as king and encourages 10+ servings a day, by any means necessary. The next emphasis is protein, and he leans toward lean proteins. The book itself actually discourages added fats and recommends using only the smallest amount possible for cooking.
He actually specifically mentions on several occasions in the book that it's not low carb, though it is lower than SAD. His breakfast smoothie base is protein powder, a blender full of spinach, berries for sweetening, a little water, and ice cubes. Some recipes do add some fat by adding a small avocado, but that's about
It's not really a LCHF book, but it's a good book, nonetheless, and a good introduction to ways of eating that don't focus on calories and starvation.0 -

I stand corrected again. I see it as the FIRST step for many low fat addicted.
Just getting young people and older adults risking diabetes to consider more veggie AND fats is a good step. But yes it has not much to do with a strict LC diet, I was thinking globally, not just about myself.0 -
i am mid-book right now. i am enjoying it. it was ten bucks on Nook-a good read. thumbs up from jen. i am not far enough to say if i will commit to that way of eating, but a few more veggies would probably be good0

I am glad to hear you cared to buy the book..my main fear is MOST young women, like you, will continue to buy-in to the super low cal/low fat path that will ruin their bodies over decades. as it did for many women over 40-50-60.
I wish I could convince all the smart Moms with teen girls* to realize this, and teach their daughters something better…LCHF, and give them a life of great health and later, fat, healthy babies. MOST moms will believe 'tons of veggies" before lots of high fat..so 'baby steps' to success.
* boys tend to at least eat protien, more calories to bulk up.
A woman in UK has also been teaching the same thing…..you can see why Jonathan's 'motivating' video reaches out better to young adults. Hers is logical, a bit dry.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UbHjosvKYk

i have a teenager who eats low carb with us while at home. While she is out, she makes her own choices. But the other day she said she didn't really care for buns on her burger anymore. They were just too plain and "bready". Woo hoo! (Ps i am not that young but thank you you made my day0
