I am getting more anxious to reach young women, to save them from the stupidity we tried. Between their need to be slim & hot in their 20's, to fitting in a size 6 wedding dress..they are risking so much longterm by starving their young bodies of the fat it needs now.
ALL us women over 50 and 60 recall the hideous diets we tried because WE wanted to be slim and beautiful..nothing has changed in human nature.
Tell Us YOUR memories..then share with the young women you know.

Metrecal- dry cookies and disgusting 'shakes' in a small can.

"Ayds" diet caramels-unfortunate name by the 80's..sold in boxes like Sees candy. "loaded with nutrients" ( just eat 5 or 6 you feel great …grin) The co. president went down with his ship shouting "we had the name first." -referring to AIDS

HCG shots (pregnant woman's urine--yep!) Injected right into our bodies..while eating 500c a day. It bs BACK. Now as daily "drops" and still 500 c. -ads all over youtube.

Lowfat Everything-(this still effects all) was almost torture..buying that disgusting unreal butter-substitute in a tub that released water if it sat too long, and puddled on top..I wondered what the heck yellow pseudo-oil/gas was left.

Early WW- It kept the housewife busy….(actual recipe) 'flatten 1 white bread slice, cut out shapes, arrange on plate like a flower, open can of tuna. They got MUCH better over time, thankfully.
+++++++
Not Crazy: When I discovered Adkins in 74 I remember my hubby laffing like crazy because I said "Yakyakyak (describing excitedly).…and I can have BUTTER!" I got teased, but it worked! dipping lobster in melted butter? I was in heaven.

    The Cookie Diet-had to order online, eat the cookies, and one low cal meal (if I'm remembering correctly). The only diet that made my hair fall out. Did lose weight, but of course put it back on right away once stopped eating the cookies.
