I have been putting flax seed in my shakes out of habit, is that OK on phase one?

    If it's not on the protocol sheet you aren't supposed to have it.

    Ideal Protein doesn't recommend it - however, some people need to take it to stay... ummm... regular - and they don't want to be taking pills.

    When you look at the numbers,
    1 tbsp:
    55 calories
    3g carbs
    2.8g of fiber

    Once you cancel the fiber from the carbs you are only consuming 0.2g of carbs per tablespoon. This is minimal.

    It does, however, contain 4.3g of fat. Ideal Protein is a Low Carb Low Fat diet. If you are able to stay in ketosis and lose weight then I say by all means - keep taking it.

    Ideal Protein offers SENSA pills to help keep you regular. Check with your coach. I take it and it helps a lot!

    My coach is the one who recommended that I add flax seed to my morning shake. She recommends it to anyone who is suffering from constipation.
