Gastric Sleeve is a Blessing

Hi, I'm Alicia. I'm from Texas & I went to Tijuanna, Mexico & had my Gastric Sleeve done on March 4, 2014. I topped the scales at more than 415 pounds. Here it is a year later and I'm down more than 238 pounds. I feel so much better. I have a long list of medical problems & I was walking on a cane full time.... Now I'm cane free and some of my medical problems have eased up, some gone. I try to stay low carb, low calorie, & high protein in my diet. Surgery is not 100 proof, it takes a lot of work & support, but I was working toward death & I'm so much better now. I love looking at low carb, & low calorie recipes so feel free to post some or add me as a friend. Thank you all. God Bless.

Congratulations! You have had awesome success. I started at 386 over 3 years ago and have lost 164 so far. Not willing to be done yet. I too had a cane and a lot of health issues that are gone but one. I still have acid reflux, but that's it. Yes this surgery is a blessing as is the much better life it allows us!

I agree that the sleeve is such a blessing!
I had mine done June 24, 2014, and i'm about 15 pounds from goal, and off all medications. Could not have done it without the sleeve0 -

Hi Alicia: Great accomplishment thus far. I am 4 years post sleeve down 222lb after a 50lb regain which I have lost and then continue to loose. I could not have lost that weight and kept it off without my sleeve, MFP site and all the great peeps on here.
