DH is on board

I went to a primal blueprint seminar a couple weeks ago. I had already been eating this way but wanted to know more about it. I got a book brought it home, Dh read it. He's on board, it makes sense to cut out the crap food and fuel your body with good quality back to basics food. So, yesterday was his first full day. Let me first say that he has a Pepsi and Candy habit that he is kicking. So, he's got some MAJOR with drawls right now. He came home for lunch and was SNIPPY and not his normal perky self. I made his lunch for him and also make a nice roast in the crock pot last night for when he got home. I am SUCH a good wife, lol. I hope we both make it through the 21 days. Please say a little prayer, lol, j/k kinda.
a normal eating day for him would be
Breakfast cereal a couple hours later large glass of pepsi= Carbs and sugar
Lunch 2 ham sandwiches with pretzels afterward some candy =Carbs and sugar
dinner some kind of meat and veggie
after dinner candy candy candy =Sugar

Eeeeeekkk! LOL Well, for the long term, congratulations. It will be so much easier with you both eating the same, and you will both be full of energy and the joy for life
But in the meantime, I hope *you* can make it through his adaptation phase LOL We're here if you need to vent. Hopefully it will go easily soon for him. I only took a couple of days to not want sugar any more and I was a very similar addict as your husband.

Would it help to have him step down on the Pepsi and candy instead of going cold turkey? My husband is newly under doctor's orders to cut his carbs, and NOT happy. I went out today and got him Pepsi Next and Max to ween himself off.0

I have a wicked sweet tooth as well. I bought the Atkins desserts and meal bars. Instead of cereal for breakfast, maybe the meal bar that has that sweet taste he likes, then for after dinner an Atkins dessert. I use it as my reward lol. If I keep under my carbs and save a few so I can have an Atkins dessert.
But maybe thats not allowed on primal...0 -
Good for your hubby to make a switch! I cut my carbs and sugar cold turkey and haven't look back. I've never had a sweet tooth, my weakness was pastas, rice and white bread, I no longer crave them0
